Trying to find some new ways to mix up all the chicken I am eating I came across this recipe for barbecue
Ingredients
29 ounces no-sugar-added tomato sauce
6 ounces no-sugar-added tomato paste
2 ounces bourbon
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
3/4 cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda)
1/4 cup brown sugar substitute, optional (recommended: Sugar Twin brand)
2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
Directions
Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to combine. Reserve, refrigerated.
I substituted Jack Daniel's Honey for the bourbon and I was generous with it... . It tasted pretty good but I decided to punch it up just a little so I doubled the vinegar and liquid smoke. Give it shot.

Gay Marriage
Might as well start this off with a bang... I HATE the gay marriage ban debate. I hate the fact that this topic shows up in politics at all. I am MORE pissed off that the topic is brought up most often by politicians seeking to ban gay marriage than it is by supporters of gay marriage. And I am MOST pissed off that it is coming up now, at a time when our state and our country face historic financial problems. I am pretty sure we have something better to do than debate how members of an extreme minority of our population demonstrate their commitment to another member of that population.
Just a quick recap: The Minnesota House of Representatives voted to add an Amendment that would Constitutionally ban gay marriage in the State of Minnesota. The final decision on this will be made by the voters in the state in November of 2012. Currently there are 30 state that have some level of constitutional ban on gay marriage.
My question to everyone is this:
ARE YOU ALL STUPID???!!!
The #1 argument for banning gay marriage is religious in nature. The United States has a long held tradition of the separation of church and state. Our government and its people have no business telling other people what their religious values should be or forcing others to live by those values.
I acknowledge our country IS Christian historically and traditionally. I don't have a seconds worth of time for people who get all butt-hurt when you say "Merry Christmas" to them. Know where you are, what our traditions are and the intent behind the statement. No one is saying you have to celebrate Christmas. We don't force anyone to celebrate Christmas. Everyone has the right to celebrate what ever holidays they wish. We should protect the rights of the Gay and Lesbian community in the same way. They should have the right to celebrate their unions however they wish not how others wish them to because of religious convictions.
Although I was raised Catholic, I am obviously not overly religious. Maybe it's because of all the hate I see caused by people who ARE overly religious. I can't help but see a correlation between statements saying God hates gays and statements similar to Allah hates infidels.
Some people say their argument isn't religious it is moral. As if it was morally wrong for 2 people to love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together just because they happen to be the same sex. I think its time for people who are against gay marriage to take a long hard look in the mirror and see the bigot staring back at them.
